Winter in the art room

It may be cold outside, but the kiln has been firing away in the art room!

Art 2 students are finishing clay animals and throwing on the wheel. Clay animals were made with coil construction and students were challenged to create an animal that represented them in some way. Students are also glazing clay food that was made a little earlier in the semester.

Art 1 students are making sgraffitto bowls. The bowls are made with slab construction and the interior of the bowl will tell a story from the student's life. Next, we will be making slab boxes with lids!


Advanced Art students have been challenged to create a self-portrait bust (head and shoulder) sculpture from clay. We took photos from all angles for reference. Check back soon for in-progress pictures!
